to our line up of left hand throttle kits is the Lefty’s
Side Hiller-2 Dual Throttle Control. This kit is more affordable and designed as a universal
kit that is extremely easy to install. The kit comes pre-assembled and
has color photo instructions. When you install the kit you do not have
to disassemble any part on the sled or modify any parts on the handlebars.
You simply bolt the 2 piece Lefty’s Throttle Block over the hand-grip,
then route and secure the Lefty’s Cable over to the right hand side of your snowmobile,
then insert 2 screws to secure the Lefty’s Bell Crank to the OEM
throttle lever. Then check to see if the assembly works freely. And
that’s it, you’re done!
The kit features newly designed parts such as our Billet
Aluminum
Cantilever Right Side
Bell Crank.
The Bell Crank mounts behind the OEM throttle pivot pin on the bottom
side of the OEM throttle lever, then points out towards the front of the
sled. Being mounted behind the OEM throttle pivot pin gives it a gear
reduced feeling when you pull the Lefty’s throttle lever. So it is
smooth and easy to pull like the OEM throttle.
The kit also includes our New
Billet Aluminum Left Side Throttle Block that securely mounts over any size hand grip and features
our new throttle lock out pin. Being built this way makes it simple to
install with no modifications needed. Each Lefty’s part
is anodized black with the Lefty's logo anodized in silver.
Next is our New
Cable.
It is similar to our original cable in the Model Exclusive Kits but it
does not need a cable adapter on the right side. The cable is made to
the right length to fit all OEM Mtn. sled handlebars. It simply routes
from the Lefty’s Throttle Block straight over to the Bell Crank. The
Cable is also sealed to keep moisture out of the inner Cable-Housing;
which will help prevent it from freezing.
The
Throttle Lever is the same for both types of Lefty’s Kits,
it is a composed plastic like your OEM throttle lever, but is designed
for left hand use. When on the sled it sticks straight down and is
intended to be used with one or two fingers, but can also be used with
your thumb when trail riding. The Lever also has a long action throw, so
you can easily get full throttle without having the Lefty’s Cable
adjusted too tight.
